Random Acts of Basketball Kindness

Mike Gibson has one of the toughest jobs in Philadelphia; he is a process server, driving around Penrose and Kingsessing, delivering complaints to West Philly residents who aren't always friendly.

On a whim, he donated two basketballs, given to him by a local beer distributor, to kids while working, and posted about it on Facebook afterward. Donations of brand new basketballs from friends and relatives came pouring in. Thus, Gibson's Sixth Man Project was born. Such donations became routine, and he has donated nearly 500 balls so far, and still has more to give.
